The Blackberry Desktop Manager gives a status of Disconnected and I can't use Intellisync.

Overview:

In order for your Blackberry Desktop Manager to synchronize your Blackberry to the Link2Exchange server it must first be able to connect to your Blackberry handheld. If you've connected your handheld to your computer and Desktop Manager still says 'Disconnected' follow the procedure below.

Procedure:

  1. If Desktop Manager is open, close it.
  2. Click Start->Programs->Blackberry->Desktop Manager.

    • Log in with your e-mail address and password, if requested.

  3. If Desktop Manager still reports the status as 'Disconnected' then change your USB settings.

    1. Click Options->Connection Settings.

    2. Select USB from the drop-down list.

    3. Click Detect

    4. Check to make sure the USB cable is plugged into your Blackberry and your computer securely. Click Detect again.

    5. If your Blackberry is still not detected, unplug your Blackberry and plug it into a different USB port on your computer. Click Detect.

    6. Click OK.
  4. If your Desktop Manager still reports the status as 'Disconnected' then contact support at .
