 Troubleshooting

My Blackberry is continuously initializing. What should I do?

Document: Q1090

Overview:

If your Blackberry is continually restarting itself for no reason, follow the procedure below.

Procedure:

  1. Remove the battery cover from the back of your Blackberry.
  2. Using a paperclip, push the recessed 'Reset' button to reset your Blackberry.

  3. Put the battery cover back on.

  4. Once the Blackberry comes back up, click Options.

  5. Click Network (or Network Settings).

  6. Click to pull down the drop-down menu and click Register Now.

    1. NOTE: Some newer Blackberry devices don't have a Register Now in Network Options. Instead click on Host Routing Table in the Options screen and click Register Now on the pull-down menu.
You should receive an email message indicating that you were successfully registered on your providers network. If you don't, contact your cellular carrier.
