Overview:
In order to use Microsoft Outlook to access your Link2Exchange email, you must first install and configure a VPN client to create a secure connection to the Link2Exchange network. The instructions below will assist you in doing that.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Mac OS-X Tiger (v10.4.x) will not work with this VPN client. You must instead download the VPN client specifically created for Mac 10.4. You can download this client at https://www.link2exchange.com/downloads . (Use your e-mail address and password to log in.)
Procedure:
If you haven't already done it, download the Link2Exchange VPN client for Mac OS-X from our secure download site at https://www.link2exchange.com/downloads/. Once you’ve downloaded the Macintosh VPN client, it will be saved onto your desktop.
- Double click on the VPN client .dmg file to extract the setup files.
The files will be extracted to the CiscoVPNClient folder on your Desktop. Double click on CiscoVPNClient.

- In the CiscoVPNClient folder, double click on the file named ‘CISCO VPN Client.mpkg’.
This will start the Cisco VPN Client installation process.
In order to install the Cisco VPN client, you must have administrator access on your Mac. If you do, click the lock in the bottom left-hand corner of this window to enter in your Mac’s administrator username and password.

- Type in the username and password for administrator access to your Macintosh and click OK. (This should be the username and password you use to log into your computer when you first turn it on.)
- Once you’ve typed in a valid administrator username and password, a reminder will pop up that you must be running OS-X version 10.1.5 or greater to use the CISCO VPN client. Click ‘Apple-->About this Mac’ to determine what version of the Mac OS you’re running. If you are using OS-X version 10.1.5 or greater, click Continue.

- Next, you must read and agree to the CISCO Software License agreement.
Once you’ve read the agreement, click Continue.
- You must now agree to the terms of the license agreement to continue software installation.
Click Agree if you accept the terms of the license agreement.
- Click on the drive on which you want to install the VPN client then click Continue. (Note: Your drives will probably have different names than the one shown below. That’s OK. Select one of the drives you see on your screen and click Continue.)

- You’re now ready to install the Link2Exchange CISCO VPN client. Click Install to begin the installation process.
- Once the installation is complete, you should see a message indicating that the software was successfully installed. Click Close.

- Click Apple-->System Preferences.

- Under Personal (or Accounts in Mac 10.3.x), click Login.

- Under the Login Items tab, click Add.

- Next to From: select your Applications folder.

- In the right window, click on VPN Client.

- Click Open.

- Close System Preferences.
- Restart your Mac.
- Once the Link2Exchange VPN client comes up, and it should automatically do so, click Connect to connect to Link2Exchange.
