 Troubleshooting

I have notification for new messages set but I'm not receiving notifications.

Document: Q1086

Overview:

The Blackberry can let you know when new messages arrive by alerting you with a beep or by vibrating (on most phones).

Procedure:

On the 7510:
  1. Click Profiles on the Main Menu.

  2. Click the Profile that has '(On)' next to it.
  3. Click Edit from the drop-down menu.

  4. Click on Messages.

  5. Under 'Out of Holster', set how you'd like to be notified when the Blackberry is out of its holster.
Make certain that either 'Tone', 'Vibrate' or 'Vibrate and Tone' is selected next to 'Out of Holster', not 'None'.
Also make sure, if your using a Tone alert, that the volume is set high enough for you to hear. (We recommend the escalating ring.)

  6. Under 'In Holster', set how you'd like to be notified when the Blackberry is out of its holster.
Make certain that either 'Tone', 'Vibrate' or 'Vibrate and Tone' is selected next to 'In Holster', not 'None'.
Also make sure, if your using a Tone alert, that the volume is set high enough for you to hear. (We recommend the escalating ring.)

  7. When you've finished changing the settings, click on one of the settings then click Save on the drop-down menu.
