How to fix calendar appointments showing at different times on different computers.

Document: Q1063

Overview:

Occasionally a user will enter in appointments on one machine and find that the time of the appointment is different if they view it from a different computer or from their Blackberry.

Procedure:

The issue is actually with the time settings either on the machine you made the appointment on or on the machine you're viewing it from. To check that your time is set properly on your computer, do the following:

Windows time:

  1. Click Start-->Settings-->Control Panel

  2. Double click Date/Time.

  3. Make sure that the time is set properly. (Double check the AM/PM setting.)

  4. Click the Time Zone tab.

  5. Make sure the Time Zone is set to your time zone

  6. Make sure that there's a check mark next to Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes. (If this isn't checked then your time will be one hour off for six months out of the year.)

  7. Click OK.

  8. Repeat this process on the other PC(s) you're testing from and add a new appointment. It should work flawlessly now.

Macintosh time (OS-X 10.1.5+):
  1. Click Apple-->System Preferences.

  2. Under System, click Date & Time.

  3. Make sure that the time is set properly. (Double check the AM/PM setting.)

  4. Click the Time Zone tab.

  5. Close this window.

  6. Repeat this process on the other Mac(s) you're testing from and add a new appointment. It should work flawlessly now.

Blackberry time:
  1. Connect your Blackberry wireless device to your PC.

  2. Open up the Blackberry Desktop Manager.

  3. Double click Intellisync.

  4. Put a check mark next to Update handheld's date and time.

  5. Click Synchronize Now.

  6. Repeat this process on the other Blackberry(s) you're testing from and add a new appointment. It should work flawlessly now.
