How do I determine what Windows Operating System version I am using?

Document: Q1163

Overview:

Outlook support for Microsoft Windows varies depending on the version of Windows you're currently running. To determine the version of Windows you have, do the following:

Procedure:

  1. Right-click on My Computer then click Properties. (On Windows XP, you might have to click Start then right-click on My Computer and click Properties.)
  2. Under 'System' on the General tab it will list the Operating System version and what Service Pack you're running.
In order to support our preferred method of connecting, RPC over SSL, you must be running at least Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows 2003.
