Overview:
Link2Exchange offers support in our control panel for forwarding messages from your account with us to another account. Use the control panel instead of the procedure below if you're forwarding email off of your Link2Exchange account. (See Related Documents below.) If, however, you have an exchange account with another provider you can use the procedure below to forward mail from that account to your Link2Exchange account.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're forwarding email from a company account make sure that you are allowed to do so before following the procedure below. Some companies do not allow corporate email to be forwarded off of their servers. You are solely responsible for knowing your company's policies. Link2Exchange will not accept any liability from the misuse of the information contained in this document.
Procedure:
- Open Microsoft Outlook and connect to the mail server you're forwarding email from.
- Click Tools->Rules and Alerts.
- Click the Email Rules tab.
- Click New Rule.
- Click Start From a Blank Rule.
- Click Check Messages when the Arrive.
- Click Next.
- Click Next again. (There are no conditions to set, you'll be forwarding all email.)
- Click Next.
- Click Yes.
- Put a check next to redirect it to people or distribution list. Do not select forward because that will add headers and change the subject of the message. Make sure you select redirect.
- Under Step 2, click people or distribution list.
- Under Specify to whom to forward messages, type in your Link2Exchange email address next to 'To:'.
- Note: If your using a non-@link2exchange.com email address, forward your email using the following format: username.domainname.com@int.link2exchange.com. For example, if your Link2Exchange address is joe@company.com, you'd use joe.company.com@int.link2exchange.com as the address to which you're forwarding email.
- Click OK.
- Click Next.
- Click Next again. (There are no exceptions to this rule, you'll be forwarding all email.)
- Click Finish.
- Click OK.
- Send the account you're forwarding email from a test message. It should arrive in that account AND be forwarded to your Link2Exchange account.
- If this rule doesn't work how you want it to or you want to deactivate it, click Tools->Rules and Alerts.
- Remove the check from next to this rule.
- Click OK.
