Overview:
Link2Exchange is an hosted e-mail/mobile data services solution provider. As such, we support connectivity to our services
from a wide variety of devices. We cannot support everything about these devices over the phone or via e-mail but we will
offer assistance on some standard non-connectivity features through our Knowledge Base. This article is one such example.
By default, your Blackberry is configured to ring or vibrate when new e-mail messages are received (depending on whether the
Blackberry is in or our of its holster). This can be annoying and many customers would prefer not to be notified at all over
being notified for each message. Fortunately there's a middle ground. Follow the procedure below to receive silent notification
when you have new e-mail on your Blackberry.
Procedure:
- On the home screen (on your Blackberry), click Profiles.
- Click the trackwheel to pull down the menu and click Edit.
- Scroll down and click on Messages.
- Configure your 'Out of Holster' settings.
- Click the trackwheel to pull down the menu and click Edit.
- Highlight the value next to Out of Holster.
- Click the trackwheel to pull down the menu and click Change Option.
- Scroll up and click on None.
- Highlight the value next to Repeat Notifications.
- Click the trackwheel to pull down the menu and click Change Option.
- Scroll down and click on LED Flashing. (This will cause your Blackberry's LED to flash when you receive a message - this step is optional)
- Configure your 'In Holster' settings.
- Highlight the value next to In Holster.
- Click the trackwheel to pull down the menu and click Change Option.
- Scroll up and click on None.
- Highlight the value next to Repeat Notifications.
- Click the trackwheel to pull down the menu and click Change Option.
- Scroll down and click on LED Flashing.
- Click the trackwheel to pull down the menu and click Save.
That's it! From now on your only notification of new e-mail will be the LED on your Blackberry.
