Overview:
In order for your Blackberry device to use Link2Exchange, you must be in an area that has data services coverage from your provider. To check if the area you're currently in has data coverage, do the following:
Procedure:
All Blackberrys:
- In the Blackberry, click Options.
- Click Status.
- In the Signal field, verify the value is less than 100dBm. (A weak signal would be greater than 100dBm and could prevent data connectivity.)
- If everything looks good, try re-registering your Blackberry on your cellular carrier's wireless network
For Blackberrys that are Java-enabled:
- Nextel: Verify that the letters NXTL appear in the status section of your Blackberry (usually in the corner of your main window). If any letters are lowercase then you do NOT have a data connection.
- All others: Verify that either GPRS or 1X network status indicators appear in the status section of your Blackberry.
For non-Java Blackberrys:
Unfortunately, there's no definitive way to know you're using a connection capable of data on non-Java Blackberrys. Try using the web browser if your email isn't working. If the web browser works then your data connection is good.
