Overview:
Users with Blackberry devices running software version 4.0 or later can now perform all of their email, calendar, contacts, tasks and notes configuration without connecting to their desktop pc. Below are instructions on configuring settings for your out of office reply..
Procedure:
- On your Blackberry device's home screen, click Messages.
- Click the trackwheel to bring up the drop-down menu and click Options.
- Click Email Settings.
- Scroll to highlight the value next to Use Out of Office Reply.
- Click the trackwheel to bring up the drop-down menu and click Change Option.
- Scroll to the option you want then click on it. For example, scroll down to Yes then click the trackwheel to change the setting.
- Type in your out of office reply in the text box below this option. The out of office reply typically should state that you're out of the office, when you'll be returning, a different, reachable person who can be contacted in case of emergency and how frequently you'll be checking messages while you're gone.
- Hit the Escape key twice on your handheld (just below the trackwheel) then click Save.
