 Using the Control Panel
 User Account Self-Management

Granting other users (on your business account) permission to send messages as you.

Document: Q1246

Overview:

Link2Exchange business users can grant permission for other users on their domain to send messages as if it were from their address.

Procedure:

  1. Log in to the Link2Exchange control panel with your email address and password.
  2. Under Hosted Exchange 2003, click Mailbox Rights Delegation.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Next to 'Delegate Mailbox Rights to', select the name of the person to whom you want to give permission to send messages in your name.
  5. Next to 'Send Options', click either 'Send on Behalf of' or 'Send As'.

    • Select 'Send on Behalf of' to have messages from this user say 'Sent on behalf of (you) by (this user).

    • Select 'Send As' to have messages from this user appear to have come from you (without the 'Sent on behalf of).
  6. Link2Exchange does not recommend granting other users 'full mailbox access'. If you do, that user will be able to manage your email fully, including deleting messages. To allow them to send email you will need to grant them either 'Send As' or 'Send on Behalf of' permissions.
  7. Click Add.
