Overview:
Many Palm devices have Exchange ActiveSync included with them through software called VersaMail which allows these devices to wirelessly sync email and calendar items. This software is configured differently from ActiveSync but behaves in essentially the same way and requires that Microsoft ActiveSync/Pocket PC access be configured on your account prior to configuring your handheld device. NOTE: Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Updates for Palm OS devices for the Palm Treo 680 and Treo 700p smartphones. Domain and username in Step 5 will be in separate fields.
Procedure:
- On your handheld device, go to Applications and select VersaMail.
- Open the menu, highlight Accounts and then click Account Setup.
- Click New.
- Enter in the Basic Account Information:
- Next to Account Name, type in Link2Exchange.
- Next to Mail Service, select Microsoft ActiveSync.
- Click Next.
- Enter in the Account Login Information:
- Under Username, type you@yourdomain.com.
- Click in the Password box and type in your e-mail password.
- Click Next.
- Enter in your E-mail Address and Server Information:
- Under E-mail Address, type your e-mail address, you@yourdomain.com.
- Under Server Name, type in mail.link2exchange.com.
- Click Next.
- Click Advanced.
- Check the Advanced Server Settings
- Next to port number, type in 443.
- Make sure 'Use Secure Connection (SSL) is checked.
- Click Next.
- Check the Proxy Server Settings
- Make sure the Proxy Server setting is blank.
- Next to port number, type in 80.
- Uncheck Proxy Authentication Settings.
- Click Done.
- Click Sync. You should now see e-mail and calendar items syncing to your handheld.
