Overview:
While Link2Exchange strongly recommends using RPC over HTTPS, it is possible to manually setup a Link2Exchange POP account.
Please note that some of Outlook/Exchanges functionality will not work with POP3, such as the use of Public Folders. We strongly recommend using RPC over HTTPS so that these features remain open to you.
Procedure:
- Click Start->Settings->Control Panel.
- Double click Mail.
- Click Show Profiles.
- Click Prompt for a Profile to be used.
- Click Add.
- Type in L2E POP for the Profile name. (Technically whatever you want to put in is fine.)
- Click Add new email account then click Next.
- Click POP3 then click Next.
- Type in your personal and account information in the provided boxes then click Next.
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.exmx.net
- Outgoing Mail Server: mail.exmx.net
- Username: you@yourdomain.com
- Click More Settings.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Under Outgoing server put a check in the box for "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)"
- Change the Outgoing port to 587
- Put a check next to Leave a copy of messages on the server.
- Put a check next to Remove from server when deleted from 'Deleted Items'.
- Click OK
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
