ActiveSync on my phone is reporting errors under 'Synchronize with Server'

Document: Q1121

Overview:

Contacts, Calendar and Email synchronization status is always stored on the handheld. If the handheld is reporting an error synchronizing with the server try the following:

Procedure:

HOW TO CHECK YOUR SYNCHRONIZATION STATUS ON YOUR PHONE
  1. On your phone, click Start->Programs.
  2. Click ActiveSync.
  3. Under 'Synchronize with Server', if an error is listed then follow the instructions below. If it just lists a Last Sync date and time then it is working fine.

RECONFIGURE YOUR SERVER SETTINGS MANUALLY.

  1. With your PocketPC connected to your computer, open ActiveSync on your computer.
  2. Click Options.
  3. Under Server, click Configure
  4. Under Server Connection, click Connection.

    1. Server Name: mail.link2exchange.com
    2. User Name: .
To find your OMA username (which isn't your the same as your email address), do the following:
      1. Open your control panel and log in with your email address and password.
      2. Under Hosted Exchange 2003, click View Configuration.
      3. Towards the bottom of this page, find your login name under 'Login Information for Microsoft Outlook/OWA/OMA'.
      4. Take that login name and remove the 'INT' from the front of it. This is your username for OMA.
    3. Password:
    4. Domain: L2E
    5. Make sure both 'This server uses an SSL connection and Save Password are checked.
    6. Click OK.
  6. Click OK.
