Overview:
Activating your Blackberry account to wirelessly sync to your Link2exchange account. This action will sync your Blackberry to your Exchange accounts contacts, calendar, tasks, memos and new emails prior to the activation. This will not sync your Outlooks older stored emails or sub-folders, public folders or shared folders.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are a Link2Exchange business customer and we are not hosting all of your domain's e-mail then you MUST ensure that any mail sent to your domain is being forwarded to the Link2Exchange servers for each user whose BES service you want to activate. For details on how to forward your mail to Link2Exchange, see:
Procedure:
- Before you begin, activate your Blackberry account with Link2Exchange. (Once your account is activated, you will receive an email with a Blackberry activation password. This password will only be required when you initially activate your Blackberry on our service.)
-
We suggest contacting your cell provider and have them confirm that you have the correct data plan that allows access to a third party (Link2exchange) Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES). This data plan is tied uniquely to that one assigned Blackberry pin number.
-
Once your cell provider confirms that your Blackberry pin has the correct data plan enabled, we suggest taking out the Black berry battery and place it back in. This action will force the Blackberry to re-register with your cell provider’s network and re-generate a needed encryption key for the activation. Allow time for the Blackberry icons to re-appear.
-
On the Blackberry's home screen, click the MENU button

Click Options.

On the Options screen, choose Advanced options and then click on
Enterprise Activation

Next to Email: Type your Link2exchange email address or forwarding address
NOTE: Confirm that you can receive emails from this address into your Link2Exchange account without issue. The Activation email will go to your Exchange accounts INBOX; the BES server will then retrieve that email to startup the activation. If that activation email gets caught in your Outlook Junk folder, the activation will not go through. We recommend adjusting the junk folder filter setting to be less aggressive, at least until the activation is completed.
Next to Password, type in your Blackberry Activation Password. This password is generated when you activate your Blackberry through you’re My Mobile Device portal. (www.link2exchange.com)

Click the MENU button

Choose Activate from the sub-menu

The activation status screen will appear. It should begin scrolling through the list of items it is updating.

- Once your account activation is complete, your Blackberry will automatically sync your Inbox, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes wirelessly without any further configuration!
If it takes more than 5 minutes to get past 'Activating...', contact Link2Exchange support at . IMPORTANT NOTE: Once you've activated your Blackberry device wirelessly you MUST NOT sync it with your Blackberry Desktop Manager unless you've performed a clean uninstall of the old Desktop Manager software (assuming it was installed prior to joining Link2Exchange) and a new installation of the most recent version of Desktop Manager.
